My first piece of english literature homework for my as course is to write a book review on any book of my choice.
I have never written a book review like this before and it has to be a minimum of a page long.
Will it be better/easier to write it on a series of books or a book from my chosen series?
Does anyone have any advice on anything to do with writing an AS book review?
Would appreciate any helpful advice.Advice writing As book review?
well id say writing a book review of a mimimum of a page long would be fairly simple its what you put in it that counts, you want details, descriptions, opinions, id say a detailed book, chapter summaries, characters, everything you can think of but make it flow....imagine your a book reviewist and its your job! have fun though!Advice writing As book review?
It sounds as though you have no idea what a review is like.
Google 'Book Reviews' and see what comes up. Or look in the weekend newspaper under the review section. Until you've actually seen one, you'll never get it right!!! You need to read a few to get the general layout and then try and write yours using a similar style (until you are confident enough to write in your own way).
Also the sleeves of most books have a quick description of what the book is about - this ISN'T a review, but the quick description will give you an idea of what you need to write about what is happening in the book (you'll have to say much more. Obviously the sleeve description is aimed at SELLING the book and not give away the story!).
Good luck.

These links are essentially the same, just choose the one that makes the most sense to you..!!!
The book report you write should be four paragraphs long. Remember to use correct conventions (margins, indent paragraphs, capitalization, punctuation etc.)

Think of a book that interests you - not one that you love, necessarily, but one that made you think hard about it after you'd read it -
Imagine you are writing to a friend about it .
You would need to give them an idea of the setting, theme, plot, characters - then an opinion of what you find compelling and good about it - then you might tell them what you found less convincing about it and - finally, you would sum up either with a recommendation to read it or (maybe) a recommendation to avoid it.
Once you've done this, you'll have written a review.
